MCPC is licensed by the State of California. The school is supervised by a Director who oversees the programs, and manages parents on each school day. In addition, a teacher works on each school day and leads special projects.

Jolie McRae - Director

Jolie has been a member of the cooperative since 2004. She oversees and directs all activities at MCPC, including our Preschool, Bridge K, and Toddler programs.  Additionally, she helps ensure that parents understand and act in accordance with our school's philosophy and teaching style, and is at the school Monday through Friday. Her two children are MCPC alumni.

Jolie has an undergraduate degree in dance and social science from UC Berkeley, and a graduate degree from Holy Names University. She completed her coursework in Early Childhood Education and Preschool Administration at Merritt College and Saddleback College.

Susana Ortega-Sanchez - Teacher

Susana Ortega-Sanchez has more than 30 years experience teaching preschool children, and has 25 years with parent cooperatives. She is the former MCPC Director, and has been a teacher at MCPC for over 20 years. Susana works at the preschool Monday through Friday, and is a mother of five children.

Susana has a degree in General Education from Merritt College, and she has completed coursework in Preschool Administration and Early Childhood Education. Susana is fluent in Spanish. She consistently incorporates Spanish into her storytelling and preschool lesson plans.

Anthea Peck - Bridge K Teacher

Anthea has been hanging out in her mother's preschool/kindergarten classrooms since she can remember! She always knew she wanted to follow in her mother’s footsteps and teach young children.

Anthea graduated from UC Davis with a BS in human development, and has a CA pre-K-8 CLAD teaching credential from New College in San Francisco, which she cleared through UCLA extension’s online program. She is continuing her education via advanced early childhood education classes via UC Santa Cruz extension Silicon Valley online. Anthea taught pre-k at Hearts Leap School in Berkeley for two years, and has been at MCPC since the beginning of the Bridge-k program in 2011.

Jamie Barret Riley - Bridge K / Extended Day Teacher

Jamie grew up in a small community in the forest, has always attended small schools, and is most comfortable in the glorious mess of cooperative/communal ventures. She was enthralled right away by MCPC's redwood trees, chickens, and artfully-maintained materials, and was very pleased to join the MCPC team in 2013.

Jamie has run several small businesses including an arts and environmental-educational summer camp and a very small neighborhood preschool co-op. She has an undergraduate degree in the social sciences from Bard College, and completed her Early Childhood Education coursework at Merritt College.
